Background info

Romance of the Three Kingdoms, written by Luo Guanzhong in the 14th century, is a classical Chinese historical novel about the turbulent period often referred to as the Three Kingdoms (AD 220-280). It is the most popular epic in Chinese literature. Among Chinese speakers the novel is usually referred to by its more popular name, San Guo Yan Yi.
