Background info
In the last ten-day period of September of 1972, the Prime Minister of Japan visited China upon invitation from Premier Zhou Enlai. The Chinese and Japanese Governments issued a joint statement to officially establish diplomatic relations and terminate the abnormal status of relations between the two countries. The Ministry of Post and Telecommunication has issued one set of commemorative stamps (see J.84) in September of 1982 to commemorate the Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between China and Japan. This set of stamps we talking about is the second set issued to commemorate the Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between China and Japan.
